When CMS (Medicare) mandated that the F&B manager in nursing homes and long-term care facilities needed to be certified, CDM and IFSEA’s CFM were the only two mentioned as examples of what would be accepted. CFM takes less than 8 hours, while CDM we understand takes at least a year and costs over $1,000. CDM is better when you have the time & $$$ - meanwhile CFM will pass inspection - we’ve certified almost 3,000 as of Feb 2026. Covers all aspects of the business with an emphasis on serving old, sick, immune deficient residents - food safety, HACCP, management, customer service, nutrition, etc.
